Description:
The Biblioteca de Catalunya is located in one of the more important buildings owned by the Catalan government in the Gothic area of Barcelona. The building was the old hospital of La Santa Creu, which was given to the city council in 1931. The first stone of the hospital was laid in 1401 and the work was completed in 1414.
