Centre Cultura Contemporania de Barcelona first opened its doors in 1994 and is located in the city centre, on the earlier foundations of the Provincial House of Charity. The CCCB is one of the truly great venues in the city of Barcelona, an absolute gem, beautiful atmosphere and beautiful architecture. It holds exhibitions, debates, courses, concerts, cinema projections and it is open to experimentation and new technologies. It's one of the more open-minded and progressive venues, with good financial backing, and a great location, pretty much allowing it to engage in anything it wants.
