La Riereta first opened its doors in 1980 in a venue in the Barceloneta neighbourhood. In 1986 it moved to Calle Riereta 33, and in 1993 to Reina Amalia 3, its current location. It has the aim of being an alternative place and closely collaborates with the City Council of Barcelona and the Centre Cívic Drassanes, who give support to their cultural activities.
