This gig runs as part of Barcelona's Sonar festival. Venue may not be MACBA, we've just said it is because we don't know where it will be yet! The Chemical Brothers are coming to Sónar 2010 Barcelona to present a completely new show, which promises to be a truly first-rate audiovisual experience. An essential outfit in the electronica of the last two decades with albums including “Exit Planet Dust” (95), “Dig Your Own Hole” (97), “Surrender” (99), “Come With Us” (02) and “Push The Button” (05), the duo consisting of Ed Simmons and Tom Rowland has remained at the top of the heap thanks to a style that is totally recognisable, a back catalogue of undeniable hits (“Hey Boy Hey Girl”, “Leave Home”, “Galvanize”, “Block Rockin’ Beats”) and the ability to please all audiences. Their concert, a sure-fire dancefloor hit, will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of Sónar 2010.

 

We're not 100% sure where Dizzee Rascal will perform yet, but have selected MACBA as a default as it's a centre-point of the Sonar festival of which this event is a part. A media star in the UK at only 24 years old, a regular name on the hit lists and a vocalist who is charismatic as well as ambitious, Dizzee Rascal presents his latest album, “Tongue N’ Cheek” (09), which mixes up house, hip-hop and funk, and is loaded with hits: “Dirtee Cash”, “Dance Wiv Me”, “Holiday” and the tremendous “Bonkers”, which features the collaboration of Armand Van Helden. Dizzee Rascal brings all the urgency and strength of his music to the stage, and will also be dusting off tracks from his other acclaimed albums: “Maths + English”, “Showtime” and “Boy In Da Corner” (winner of the Mercury Prize in 2003).

 

The band members of Kitty, Daisy and Lewis are: Kitty, Daisy, Lewis, Graeme and Ingrid. It started out as just Kitty, Daisy and Lewis performing with various guitar players providing a rhythm. After a while, we felt that it most worked playing with our dad (Graeme) on acoustic guitar and then later our mum (Ingrid) on double bass. We were then introduced to Eddie 'Tan Tan' Thornton later on, who plays trumpet with us sometimes.
