Teatre Lliure was created in 1976 by professional theatre members and under the direction of Fabià Puigserver. The building in which it all started, Teatre Lliure in Gràcia, is under construction nowadays and its reopening will take place in 2010. It will have a capacity for 300 people and it will hold medium format shows that nowadays are taking place in Espai Lliure, in Teatre Lliure of Montjuïc.
