Veïns en Defensa de la Barcelona Vella was founded in 1995 as an association of citizens and professionals who review architectural and urban reforms and its consequences for the old city centre of Barcelona. Their main activity is to inform the neigbours of the reformation projects in the area. They also organise debates and conferences. They publish PERILLEM ("We Are in Danger"), videos and photos that show the sad state of some buildings in the Ciutat Vella and the conversion to hotels of artistic and historical buildings. On some occasions they run monologue and poetry sessions, which is why we've included them in Barcelona Rocks (quite apart from the fact we support their policing of the fading quality of life in the old city of Barcelona; now... if they could only do something about the pickpockets who congregate outside the front door of their headquarters, that'd be super!).Location: C/ Sequia, 5-7, Ciutat Vella, Barcelona 08003
